Narrative Bio

Steven Landau, MD is a board certified anesthesiologist who competed his anesthesiology residency and cardiac fellowship at University of Michigan. He comes to Wayne State School of Medicine Anesthesiology Residency Program after nearly 3 decades of private practice experience. Dr Landau is currently an assistant clinical professor as well as the Associate Program Director of the anesthesiology residency program. In addition, he is director of medical student education for students on their anesthesia rotations at Trinity Health, Oakland. He has testamur certification in Advanced Perioperative Transesophageal Echocardiography. He has earned several teaching awards while a faculty member, and is especially interested in teaching advanced airway techniques, and transesophageal and transthoracic echocardiography. He also participates in teaching the POCUS courses offered quarterly at Trinity Health, Oakland. He frequently uses the Simulation Center resources for hands-on, experiential learning for residents and medical students.
