Narrative Bio

Dr. Hakim received his undergraduate degree and medical degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where he also completed an anesthesia residency. In 1996, he joined Bloomfield Anesthesia, based at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital. During his years with Bloomfield Anesthesia, Dr. Hakim served as Secretary and Vice President of the group. Upon the arrival of the Wayne State University Physician Group at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland, he became Clinical Director of the operating rooms.

He serves as the Vice Chair of Clinical Affairs for the Department of Anesthesia for the Wayne State University School of Medicine. He also serves as Chief of Anesthesia for St. Joseph Mercy Oakland, overseeing the medical direction of the hospital's operating rooms and the Alice Gustafson Ambulatory Center and, scheduling for both.
