Narrative Bio

Dr. Krishnan graduated from Jefferson Medical College in 2004. After completing his transitional year in Pittsburgh, he moved to Chicago for an anesthesiology residency at Rush University Medical Center. He then completed a Cardiothoracic Anesthesia Fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York.

After certification in advanced perioperative transesophageal echocardiography, Dr. Krishnan joined the cardiac faculty at New York University Medical Center, where he served as Director of the Robotic Mitral Valve Program and taught anesthesia residents and fellows. He was heavily involved in creating the didactic curriculum for residents who desired to become certified in basic transesophageal echocardiography. Since returning to Michigan, Dr. Krishnan has been integral in the growth of the cardiovascular surgery program at Trinity Oakland Hospital.

He serves as Director of Cardiothoracic Anesthesia and Program Director for the anesthesiology residency. His primary interests include transesophageal echocardiography, minimally invasive mitral valve surgery, clinical research, and resident education.

In 2016, he was appointed by the American Board of Anesthesiology as an Oral Board Examiner. He currently serves on The American Society of Anesthesiologists' Committee on Cardiovascular and Thoracic Anesthesia, the Educational Track Subcommittee on Cardiac Anesthesia, and the Committee on Scientific and Educational Exhibits. He also serves on the Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists' Bylaws Committee.
